Governor of Central Bank of Egypt Attends Graduation Ceremony for Fresh Cohorts of “Future Leaders” Program at Egyptian Banking Institute

H.E. Mr. Hassan Abdalla, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Banking Institute (EBI), witnessed the graduation ceremony for four fresh cohorts of the “Future Leaders” program at the EBI, the training arm of the CBE. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Rami Aboulnaga, Deputy Governor of the CBE for Monetary Stability; Mr. Tarek ElKholy, Deputy Governor of the CBE for Banking Stability and EBI Board Member; and Dr. Abdel Aziz Nossier, Executive Director of the EBI, along with members of the EBI Board of Directors. Additionally, a distinguished gathering of the banking sector executives, as well as human resources and training officials attended the ceremony
In his keynote, Mr. Abdalla expressed his pride for participating in the graduation of fresh cohorts from the “Future Leaders” program, one of EBI’s flagship training initiatives launched 30 years ago. Over three decades, EBI has consistently supported and nurtured young competencies within the banking sector
The Governor also affirmed the CBE’s keenness to prioritize human capital as the cornerstone of the sector’s future growth and prosperity. He added that recently, the CBE launched several initiatives that aimed at building a new generation of highly professional banking talents, the most recent of which was the launch of the “Bachelor of Banking Sciences” Program at a number of Faculties of Commerce, marking the first-of-its-kind undergraduate program, starting from the academic year 2025/2026
For his part, Dr. Abdel Aziz Nossier emphasized the EBI’s commitment to continuously advancing the “Future Leaders” program with cutting-edge training and assessment tools to strengthen participants’ capabilities for the rapid evolution in the banking sector and qualify them for future leadership roles
Dr. Nossier clarified that the program is designed to equip a new cadre of leaders to drive transformation and development in the banking sector. The program is regularly updated, incorporating both theoretical and practical modules in diverse fields such as banking sciences, leadership, and FinTech. The program also features international site visits to global financial institutions, to learn from the latest international best practices towards their adoption in the Egyptian banking sector
The ceremony marked the graduation of cohorts 32, 33, 34, and 35, comprising 93 young banking leaders who successfully completed this intensive training program, specifically tailored by the EBI to prepare the next tier of qualified banking leaders. This program is part of the EBI’s ongoing efforts to develop human capital in line with the latest international practices and standards. Since its inception, the program has contributed to the graduation of hundreds of leaders, currently holding influential positions across various banks operating in Egypt, which highlights the EBI’s success in building a robust base of banking competencies capable of driving development and sustainable growth
The Egyptian Banking Institute (EBI) was established in 1991 by a decree from the Central Bank of Egypt to act as its training arm, for implementing international best practices to cultivate the technical and managerial skills of personnel in the financial and banking sectors. The EBI aims to become the leading national and regional knowledge hub for financial services, through excellence in skill development, providing integrated knowledge services to the financial sector, and promoting financial literacy in society
