DiDi Moto is Redefining Everyday Mobility in Egypt with Flexibility, Safety, and Efficiency

With millions of rides completed in Egypt and a growing base of drivers and riders, DiDi is rapidly redefining how Egyptians move around their city. Combining flexibility for drivers, time savings for passengers, and one of the safest operating records in the world, DiDi has quickly become a trusted part of Cairo’s urban mobility ecosystem. Since entering the Egyptian market, the company has worked to tailor its services to local needs, ensuring that its global expertise in smart transportation is adapted to the realities of Egypt’s fast-paced, dynamic environment
For drivers, DiDi offers a new way of working that prioritizes freedom and opportunity. On average, moto drivers dedicate just ten days a month and around 1.66 hours per day to the platform, choosing when and how they work. Despite the light schedules, drivers earn competitively, with average hourly earnings reaching 2.19 times the national minimum wage compared to salaried workers. This balance allows drivers to pursue other jobs, studies, or family responsibilities while still securing sustainable income, whether full-time or part-time
Equally important is DiDi’s commitment to safety. From January to July 2025, DiDi moto drivers completed over 17.33 million trips with zero fatalities. This makes Egypt’s accident rate one of the lowest across DiDi’s global markets. Such results underline the company’s continuous investment in driver training, technology, and monitoring systems, ensuring that every trip is as safe and reliable as possible for both riders and drivers.
For riders, DiDi moto brings speed, affordability, and efficiency to daily commutes. Each motorcycle trip saves an average of 36 minutes compared to public transport. Between January and July 2025, these savings added up to 10.4 million hours — the equivalent of more than EGP 291 million in productivity when measured against the national minimum wage. Moto rides are also up to 40% lower in price compared to 4-wheels and provide a smart way to cut through traffic jams and congestion, turning everyday commutes into opportunities. These are hours that Egyptians are reinvesting in work, family life, and personal priorities
The service has also become an essential extension of Egypt’s wider transportation network. More than 12 percent of DiDi moto trips start or end within 100 meters of one of the city’s 84 metro stations, making it a vital last-mile connector that improves the reach and convenience of Egypt’s largest public transit system. This integration strengthens the sustainability of urban mobility by complementing rather than competing with mass transport options, creating a more efficient and connected travel experience for millions of people
As Cairo continues to grow, DiDi Moto is positioning itself as more than just a mobility option — it is a driver of opportunity, a safer alternative for millions, and an integral link in the city’s mobility future
